Tucked away in a secluded tropical forest, Bowker Beach House caters for 2 adults only; exclusive, extremely private, and in a stunning location on Lord Howe Island's beautiful lagoon beach. With a strong focus on cool contemporary style, luxury fittings and total comfort – this beautifully designed Beach House perfectly complements the gorgeous island!

From the moment you glimpse the winding boardwalk leading through the forest, you'll experience a sense of something special; of discovery. The entrance boardwalk is dressed with three side platforms; the first has hand-crafted custom timber bike racks, the next is an outdoor shower (perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach), and a final platform with hand-made custom board racks housing a pair of McTavish 9’6 and 8’6 surfboards, as well as 2 standup paddleboards (all included in tariff). The curved exterior timber feature wall at the main entrance is echoed inside, leading into the spacious living area. With an extensive library, Wi-Fi, Bose sound system, Foxtel, DVD, flat screen TV, cards and board games, you won't be short of entertainment. But it's the comfort factor in here which stands out - big, comfy window seat, classy King Furniture lounge, plenty of light and ventilation - check out that Haiku bamboo fan.

Bowker Beach House has a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, beautiful dinner and glassware - all stainless, stone and high gloss finishes. There is a dishwasher, oven, drinks fridge and general fridge, microwave, coffee machine, sandwich press, beautiful dinner and glassware. Enjoy the funky Tribu dining setting for when you eat inside. Glass sliders open onto courtyard with Mamagreen outdoor setting featured; the Weber BBQ has been built into the bench adjoining more comfy seating outside- perfect for long summer evenings. Wine selection, champagne, gourmet nibbles, fruit bowl and sourdough are included.

The generously proportioned bedroom is furnished with only the best; a Haiku bamboo fan cools the room. We had the timber king size bed made by local craftsmen, and Sealy made the top quality mattress to fit. All bedding is supplied by Sheridan, with the wonderfully comfortable Abbotson linen range a feature. The gorgeous Hot Springs rug from Xavier and Me contrasts beautifully with the feature wall, and another comfy window seat is a warm afternoon reading spot. Included on the desk is complimentary Bowker Beach House stationery, and the chair is a stylish Moller Model 71.

A sensational bathroom is fully tiled with glossy porcelain; luxuriate in the tub with the complete range of Molton Brown toiletries. Heated towel rail, big double vanity and funky Orla Kiely towelling - the custom designed window and door decals featured throughout the Beach House look fabulous in here!

The lagoon beach is so inviting and so close, so enjoy all the provided facilities: a paddle on your stand-up paddleboard is a great choice - or maybe a kayak and a snorkel – or just relax in comfort under your big sunshade. Perhaps even pack the picnic hamper and settle in all day. If you're into surfing, paddle your long board out for a cruisey wave or two, and enjoy the total lack of crowds! Kick back and relax, those resort hammocks look inviting in their shady glade; select a book from the extensive library, grab a cool drink and enjoy. Head back to the beach in the afternoon; another beautiful sunset to take your breath away.

A major advantage to staying at Bowker Beach House is the flat, central location - an easy stroll to all facilities, yet tucked away in native forest. We are just across the road from the magnificent reef enclosed lagoon beach, which is superb for swimming. Mt Gower and Mt Lidgbird provide an ever-changing panorama, and because we're on the western side of the island, the sunsets over the water are incredible!

ABOUT THE ISLAND

One of the best things about growing up on Lord Howe is unfettered access to nature; to be able to safely explore, swim, fish and surf; to not worry about locking any doors, or wear shoes... where everyone drives slow enough to wave hello, to have time to chat to visitors, and share our local knowledge. What a privilege it is now to be able to share all those unchanged qualities, and to see the delight that a visit to Lord Howe delivers!
Lord Howe has grown into a sophisticated destination, with great restaurants and world class diving, fishing, hiking and surfing - all carefully nurtured within an unique environment; un-crowded, undeveloped and breathtakingly beautiful. Our land tenure is particular to Lord Howe, and ensures we’ll never be over built. Waste management is innovative and widely admired as best-practice, and our weed eradication programs attract huge interest. World Heritage listing in 1982 certainly complemented the care our island community has always shown for Lord Howe, resulting in a high percentage of very happy return visitors!
Bowker Beach House caters for a maximum of two adults. Prices are for the whole beach house, per night. The beach house is serviced daily. We look forward to welcoming you to Bowker Beach House on World Heritage listed Lord Howe Island.
