PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Rainforest Estate - a luxury private residence of secluded tropical gardens and natural rainforest

Rainforest Estate’s abundant, tropical grounds are near the end of a no through road in a pristine rainforest valley with only a handful of large, out of sight, acreage properties nearby. It’s away from suburbia, busy traffic and other unwanted intrusions, yet close to all the action that Tropical North Queensland offers. The expansive home is surrounded by 9 acres of sweeping lawns, tropical gardens and exotic fruit and rainforest trees that attract an abundance of tropical birds, butterflies and Australian native wildlife from dawn to dusk and after dark. Our mango (4 varieties) and citrus trees (oranges, mandarins, lemons, limes, lemonades, grapefruits) produce abundant fruit from December to May every year. Many species of birdlife and butterflies are abundant all year round.

A permanent rainforest creek runs along the southern boundary for over 200 metres (650 feet). A walking track follows the creek to steps that provide easy entry into a cool swimming hole fed by the mountain stream. A large bamboo stand, under a rainforest canopy on a bend in the creek, is an ideal place to take a dip, read a book, get married, watch and listen to nature, do some creative thinking or just relax.

On arrival, a bottle of French Champagne, a huge platter of tropical fruit, exotic flower arrangements from our extensive gardens and a personal meet and greet to help you settle in.

With secured gated entry over its own natural flowing mountain creek, Rainforest Estate is your very own slice of private tropical paradise.

PRIVATE FUNCTIONS AND SERVICES

In-house guests can hold private functions such as small weddings, birthdays and anniversaries in a formal seated or cocktail party style setting. Spectacular indoor and outdoor settings exist for elegant wedding ceremonies, receptions and other private functions.

Please note however, we only permit elegant private functions with a maximum of up to 50 guests and extra charges and conditions may apply.

We are happy to help organise all services and supplies you may require for your private function and / or stay including celebrants, photographers, caterers, transport, entertainment, child minding, spa treatments, cleaning, shopping, tours and more. We can even organise a grand piano.

BEDROOM / BATHROOM CONFIGURATIONS

All 4 master bedrooms have TV with Foxtel satellite and DVD channels, air-conditioning, private en-suite bathrooms, built-in wardrobes, muslin curtains, screened louvre windows and private balconies with garden views.

Master Bedroom 1 – King sized bed with separate toilet, dual shower and double vanity basins. Can also fit an extra cot.

Master Bedroom 2 – King sized bed with toilet, bidet, shower, huge spa bath and double vanity basins. Can also fit an extra cot.

Master Bedroom 3 – Queen sized bed with toilet and shower (suitable for wheelchair access).

Outside bedroom 3 is the day bed area which can be converted to sleep 2 extra singles (suitable for 2 children or small adults). It also has its own separate en-suite with toilet, shower and vanity.

Master Bedroom 4 (Pavilion) – King sized bed with toilet, shower and double vanity basins. Can also fit up to 2 cots or roll away beds.

An ajoining sitting area (screened off by 2 sets of curtains) has a double sofa bed suitable for 1 adult or 2 children.

The Pavilion also has a separate lounge room that has 2 double sofa beds suitable for 2 adults or up to 4 children and a separate toilet, shower and vanity. It also has a 50” TV with Foxtel satellite and DVD channels.

LOCATION

Rainforest Estate is perfectly located in the middle of two World Heritage Areas and on the edge of the Atherton Tablelands in Tropical North Queensland (70 kms north of Cairns International Airport).

Port Douglas, an international five-star resort village with old-world charm and the home of Four Mile Beach and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, is 15 minutes to the south.

The Daintree Rainforest, the oldest wet tropics rainforest on earth containing rare and protected rainforest flora and fauna found nowhere else on the planet, is 15 minutes to the north.

The Atherton Tablelands, the northern-most section of the 3,000 km long Great Dividing Range rising over 1,200 metres (4,000 feet) from the coastal plains, is 15 minutes to the west. Experience spectacular Baron Falls, Kuranda Markets, Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail, mountain lakes, plantations and historic towns and villages like Herberton, Yungaburra, Milla Milla, Mareeba, Atherton and many more.

Within 5-10 minutes of Rainforest Estate are the Mossman township, Mossman Gorge, fantastic restaurants, beaches and other tourist attractions and all community facilities (supermarkets, pubs and clubs, hospital, medical, dental and pharmacies, banks, post office, shops, etc).

RATES

The nightly rate varies from $1,000 - $1,500 depending on the number of guests
The minimum night stay is between 3-7 nights depending on the time of year

End of stay cleaning charges are included in the above rates. However additional or excessive cleaning is charged at $50 per hour.

Infants in cots are free and are not included in the guest limit of 16. We provide one cot (including linen), high chair and play pen free of charge. Additional equipment for infants can be hired locally (which of course we are happy to organise for you).
