PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Perched atop an elevated parcel of land in one of Sydney’s most established harbourside suburbs is Villa Biscaya, a landmark Spanish Mission trophy home with a unique history.
Designed by revered American architect Alan Edgecliff Stafford in 1929, this majestic two-storey residence commands a sweeping panoramic view taking in the full arc from Bellevue Hill and Point Piper to the stunning cityscape and beyond.
Set amid an award-winning fertile arbour that has been lovingly tended to since first constructed, the villa boasts a mix of interior and exterior formal and informal living and entertaining spaces making it the ideal venue from which to host an intimate or large scale event, or as a backdrop to your advertising campaign, product launch or photo shoot.
Carefully and meticulously rebuilt in 2001 and then refurbished in 2012, the four bedroom-two bathroom villa’s more contemporary features include a thermally-controllled bespoke 1000-bottle wine cellar, gas heating and reverse-cycle airconditioning, a sophisticated island gas kitchen, inbuilt day bed seating, underfloor heating and a back-to-base security system.
But the current caretakers of the home have also ensured this grand home has remained authentic to its glamorous old Hollywood history with ample character provided in the form of exposed vaulted ceilings, elaborate arched windows, wrought iron balconies and Huon Pine floorboards.
A meander down to the beautiful largoon-style freshwater swimming pool reveals a private tropical sanctuary, framed by established palm trees, together with a contemporary outdoor cabana comprising a fully integrated kitchen, stone flooring and bi-fold doors.
Offering unobstructed views over over to Barrenjoey Lighthouse, Pittwater, Whale Beach and the ocean beyond, Villa Biscaya is within walking distance to some of the city’s best known water attractions including Sydney Sea Planes and Sydney Harbour Escapes as well as the Rose Bay Ferry Wharf.
LOCATION
