The Lodge at Walter Peak Station provides the reassuring comforts of home, as well as a jumping-off point to a range of winter and summer activities - all set against a backdrop of dramatic natural beauty.

The property is part of historic Walter Peak Station, founded in 1860. Over 150 years later, the station is still operating, running 20,000 sheep and 800 cattle. You are most welcome to tour the farm and day trips and farm experience activities can be easily arranged.

An ideal destination - in an idyllic setting, The Lodge will bring families, friends or business groups together for an authentic high country experience. An intimate wedding, a family getaway, or a corporate retreat - we can offer you unique and memorable accommodation with adventure packages to suit.

The Lodge has everything you’d expect from a premium self-catering retreat. If you can’t quite leave the world behind, Wi-Fi internet access will keep you connected. As a rule of thumb, mobile phones are generally within reception range wherever you can see the lake. For stay at home days or nights, there is a range of DVDs, MySky (cable TV), books and board games.  Once you’ve made yourself at home, it may be time to go exploring. If outdoor pursuits are your thing, you couldn’t be in a better place, or in better hands.

Left to your own devices, or fully escorted - you choose the level of adventure that’s right for you. Take your pick from farm tours, mountain biking, high country hiking, kayaking, fishing, hunting and clay bird shooting. Want to ski, but don’t want to queue? We can arrange an unforgettable day’s heli-skiing on the station - just you, your companions and clear, open runs unspoiled by any other trail but yours!
