Newrybar is a picturesque historic hamlet established in 1880; bypassed by the highway and just a 5 minute drive to Bangalow and 15 minutes to Byron Bay. The quaint village comprises of a service station, general store, antique shop and an old bakery that has been converted into a fabulous restaurant called ‘Harvest Cafe’ which has won awards for its breakfast menu.

Newrybar has a recently refurbished community hall and a strong community vibe; the local Newrybar Primary School has approximately 35 students from Kindergarten to Yr 6 and hold an annual School Fair with a fireworks display and rides for the children. This event has become a main event for the local community.

Surrounding Newrybar is lush rainforest valleys and abundant green hills dotted with towns, dairy farms, sugar cane fields, macadamia forests and coffee plantations. The suburb spans across the highway to Broken Head Road which has the title of “Fruit Salad Road” because of the road side stalls of local produce. Take a drive along the scenic escarpment and capture some of the most spectacular ocean and rural views this region has on offer.

Newrybar is also on the doorstep to the 300kms of pristine surf beaches that includes the Seven Mile Beach running between Broken Head and Lennox Head.

Surrounding suburbs are Brooklet, Binna Burra, Fernleigh, Knockrow.
